Window Washing That Leaves No Streaks

Window washing looks straightforward until you see the streaks, the missed corners, or the haze that comes back two days after a rainstorm. A Home Services has been cleaning windows, both interior and exterior, for 14 years. The work is done by our own crew, not a subcontractor you've never met. If you want clear glass on the first visit, call (832) 244-5652 and we'll get it scheduled.

Most window washing jobs come down to a few variables: the number of windows, how long since the last cleaning, whether there's hard water buildup or construction residue on the glass, and how accessible the upper floors are. A single-story home with standard double-hungs is a different job than a two-story with transoms and specialty glass. Gulf Coast humidity and the pollen that comes with it means windows here get dirty faster than most parts of the country. We also pair window work with gutter cleaning on the same visit when it makes sense, which saves you a second call and a second appointment. Every job is different, contact Ahomeservices for an accurate estimate.

What the Service Actually Covers

Interior, exterior, screens, frames, and sills, not just the glass.

  1. 01

    Exterior Glass

Cleaned top to bottom, dried before we move to the next pane. No drips left to streak on the way down.

  2. 02

    Interior Glass

Cleaned with a separate solution to avoid cross-contaminating outdoor grime onto your inside surfaces.

  3. 03

    Screens and Frames

Screens come out, get rinsed, and go back in. Frames and sills are wiped so the whole unit looks done.

  4. 04

    Hard Water Treatment

If mineral deposits have built up on the glass from sprinkler overspray or prior cleaning, we treat those spots specifically. Regular washing won't touch them.

How It Works

Three Steps from Dirty Glass to Clean

Nothing complicated. We show up, do the work, and leave clean glass behind.

  1. 01

    Call for an Estimate

Tell us how many windows and which floors. We give you a straight number before we schedule anything.

  2. 02

    We Show Up and Work

Our crew handles interior and exterior on the same visit. Screens out, cleaned, back in. No return trips.

  3. 03

    You Inspect the Results

Walk through with us before we pack up. If something's not right, we fix it before we leave.

Why Window Washing Gets Put Off

Most homeowners know the windows need cleaning. Here's what keeps it from getting done.

01

Two-Story Access

Upper windows require a ladder and the right equipment. Most homeowners don't own the gear and don't want to be on an extension ladder cleaning glass. We do this regularly and have the setup for it.

02

Hard Water Buildup

Sprinkler systems that hit the glass leave mineral deposits that look like permanent haze. Standard glass cleaner doesn't break those down. If your windows look foggy even right after cleaning, that's usually the issue.

03

Screens Nobody Wants to Touch

Screens collect pollen, mold, and debris along the Gulf Coast in a way that makes the whole window look worse even after the glass is clean. We pull them, rinse them, and put them back.

04

It Takes Longer Than It Looks

A full house of windows, inside and out, is a half-day job if you're doing it right. Most people start it on a weekend and quit halfway through. We finish it.

Pair Window Cleaning With Other Work

One call covers more than one job when we're already at the house.

01

Gutter Cleaning

Most common pairing. Gutters and windows are both exterior maintenance that make sense to run together.

02

Pressure Washing

Driveway, siding, or patio on the same visit. Gulf Coast mildew doesn't stop at the windows.

03

General Handyman Work

If something's loose, broken, or needs a quick fix while we're already there, we handle that too. See our general handyman repairs page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does window washing cost for a typical house?
Cost depends on the number of windows, how many stories the house has, and whether there's hard water buildup or construction residue on the glass. A small single-story home is a different job than a two-story with transom windows and screens that haven't been touched in three years. We don't quote a flat rate here because it wouldn't be accurate for most jobs. Every job is different, contact Ahomeservices for an accurate estimate.
Does window washing include the screens and frames, or just the glass?
We clean the glass, frames, sills, and tracks, and we pull the screens, rinse them, and reinstall them. Just doing the glass and leaving a dirty frame and screen behind makes the whole window look half-done. We don't work that way.
How do you handle hard water stains on glass?
Hard water deposits from sprinkler overspray or mineral-heavy tap water don't respond to standard glass cleaner. We treat those spots with a separate solution that breaks down the mineral buildup before washing. If the deposits have been there for years and etched into the glass, we'll tell you up front whether cleaning can help or whether the glass itself has been damaged.
How long does a full house window wash take?
A single-story home with a standard number of windows typically runs two to three hours for interior and exterior. A two-story home with more windows, screens, and harder-to-reach panes can run four to five hours or more. We give you a time estimate when we schedule, and we don't rush the job to fit a tighter window.
How often should windows be professionally washed in a humid climate?
Twice a year is a reasonable baseline in the Greater Houston area. Gulf Coast humidity accelerates mildew and pollen buildup on glass faster than drier climates. Homes near wooded lots or with sprinkler systems that hit the glass may need it more often. After a major storm, it's worth a cleaning call alongside gutter cleaning since both tend to need attention at the same time.
Do you clean windows on two-story homes?
Yes. Upper-floor windows require a ladder and the right equipment for the job. We handle them the same way we handle ground-floor windows, and we don't charge a separate premium just for using a ladder. If you've been skipping the second-floor windows because they're hard to reach, that's exactly the job we're set up for.
